JOY IN THE ABUNDANCE OF EARTH
Self reliance, sustainable sourcing, and accessible, organic food are all on the decline. Gray Fox Farm, located in beautiful Chimacum, Washington on the indigenous grounds of the Chimacum, S’Klallam, and Lower Ehlwa Klallam peoples, is here to change the course of this story.
Situated on 10 acres of till-free land, Gray Fox Farm provides an abundance of harvest, featuring 1000 blueberry bushes, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, plums, apples, and pears. In addition, GFF provides honey, jams, jellies, soups, sauces, and duck and chicken eggs to further supplement these offerings.
All of our produce is Certified Naturally Grown, along with the use of Organic Fair Trade Cane Sugar. All other ingredients are organic/naturally grown/fair trade. All honey in our products is from hives right here at the farm.
About Laurae
Laurae is a US Army Veteran, and an enrolled tribal member of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, of Southern coastal Oregon.
I've always liked to grow food. I've always liked being in the dirt. I've always liked being outside.
Being able to rely on yourself creates a sense of pride. Instead of relying on a huge supply chain, our ancestors relied on their own knowledge to survive and thrive, creating rich lives that were able to sustain in all the seasons of the year. As we are learning year by year with the collapse of the Earth’s ecosystem, economic sustainability is NOT moral sustainability. To live a fulfilled life, we must maintain a connection to our histories and skillsets that have sustained over thousands of years.
The joy that I get from being able to teach people to re harness part of their history cannot be fully described. Gray Fox Farm is a hub for community learning in these traditional skills - things that we should all know, things that bring us joy and purpose as human beings on this planet.
